Newly created TOPdesk licences can be activated as follows: For the Virtual Appliance ⒈Stop TOPdesk in the VA console ◦on the Linux console $ topdesk-stop ⒉Open the connected shared folder ⒊Open the "licence" subfolder. ⒋Remove the old licence files completely (copy them to another folder beforehand as a backup). ⒌Insert the new TOPdesk licence files into this directory. ⒍Start TOPdesk in the VA console. ◦on the Linux console $ topdesk-restart From release 2 2023 (major release), the following steps are only necessary if your virtual appliance does not have an active internet connection. ⒈Call up TOPdesk Admin Console via the browser http://<
>/tas/admin ◦Important: The Admin Console can only be accessed via clients that have been defined in topdesk-config > TOPdesk: Grant Access to Admin Console ⁃Make sure that no proxy is stored in the browser or deactivate it temporarily. ⒉Log in as admin. ◦Please note that this admin account is not the same as the one used in the Operator section. ⒊Click the Activate licenses button. ⒋Restart TOPdesk using the button at the top right. For TOPdesk On Premise under Windows ⒈Stop the TOPdesk service/application ◦In the Windows - services or the icon in the taskbar ⒉Open the TOPdesk folder ⒊Open the subfolder 'licences' ⒋Completely remove the old licence files (copy the old files beforehand) ⒌Insert the new TOPdesk licence files into this directory. ⒍Restart the TOPdesk service/application ⒎Open the admin console on the TOPdesk server, access http://localhost/tas/admin ◦If necessary, include the TOPdesk port number http://localhost:PortNo/tas/admin ⒏Click on “Login Admin Console” in the login screen ⒐Log in as admin. ◦Please note that this admin account is not the same as the one used in the Operator's section. ⒑Click the 'Activate licenses' button. ⒒Restart TOPdesk. It is important to remove all old licenses from the licenses folder. Otherwise, it is possible that some previous files will remain resulting in an inconsistent set of licenses. How to find the license set Your licenses are linked in your customer card. Follow the steps below to download them. ⒈In My TOPdesk, open the user menu in the upper right corner. ⒉Click on Customer details > Documents. ⒊Find and download the correct file. Are these licenses also outdated? Then contact your account manager to request a new set of licenses.
